Bali Stone: A Natural Quartzite with Lagoon-Like Reflections
Bali stone is a quartzite, one of the most durable natural materials in the world, renowned for its exceptional hardness and almost complete lack of porosity. Ideal for submerged environments, it combines a unique aesthetic with long-lasting performance.
Thanks to its quartz and mica crystals, Bali stone reflects light with sparkling highlights and rich shades: gray, silver, yellow, ochre… When in contact with water and depending on the depth (from 1.40 m), these tones transform into emerald blue and lagoon green reflections, creating a spectacular natural mirror effect.
Unlike limestones, which are sensitive to salt treatments, Bali stone maintains its brilliance even when submerged. Limestones tend to give water a murkier appearance, similar to a river, without the shine.
This quartzite naturally cleaves, producing a rough, non-slip surface ideal for pool decks, submerged steps, or coping stones. Its slightly uneven thickness (+/- 2 mm) enhances its authenticity and natural grip.
